This facility which also has home bases in Wellington, Florida and Connecticut, is expanding into the Ocala, Florida market to bring their breeding operation to one central location. Within a short drive to WEC and HITS this facility will serve and their young horse development operation and layover for traveling top competition athletes. They own a combination of imports and stateside horses, many well known names. This farm is in it's raw stages now, the ownership is working closely with world renowned architects, builders, and developers to take this classic polo operation to the newest age of sporthorse breeding and young horse education. The facility is divided into two parts, one is geared towards broodmares, breeding, foaling, and weaning. While the other side is for young horse development.
Job Description:
We are looking for the best of the best for our newest Director of Breeding Operations Role. This role will focus on the breeding side, not the Young Horse side of this Operation. You will be an integral part of the ownership's team of professionals. You will lead and direct the breeding side's facility development, relocation of horses, all breeding activities, foaling, and mare procurement into the future. You will be working alongside the biggest names in the Hunter/Jumper Discipline so utmost professionalism, experience, and understanding of advanced AI and ICSI techniques is essential. With Approximately 45 horses throughout the US and Europe, the Director of Breeding will be responsible for setting up facilities for these horses and creating budgets, plans, breeding practices, and securing equipment for this facility. Along with their close partner Peterson and Smith you will be the lead of the breeding operation. You will be responsible for creating a staffing plan in addition based on long term work load.
Job Duties:
- Direct and Manage Facilities Development and Projects, such as, barn and facilities renovation, pasture installation, and property planning
- Relocate all Horses as Facility can Accommodate.
- Manage All Breeding Activities
- Develop Staffing Plans
- Create and Manage Budgets
- Review Site Plans
- Secure Equipment
- Work Collaboratively with Owners, Practitioners, Guests, and Business Partners
- Mare and Foal Care and Foaling
- Weaning
- Study and Watch Stallion Rosters and Top Breeding and Genetics Matches
- Assist with Importing of Weanlings, Yearlings, Stallions, and Mares
