Description of Facility:

This 80 acre family-forward facility in Eastern Minnesota is home to a small group of talented dressage horses and a couple beloved pet mini-donkeys and a mule! This private farm is a true passion project of the family who owns and runs it, and keeps it to the absolute highest standards. The facility is split into two portions, a 40 acre main farm, and an additional 40 acres for a variety of expansion projects. The owners have some great goals in mind for the expansion and are hoping the addition of a Director of Operations can add a much needed experienced and professional asset to the flourishing team.

Job Description:

We are beginning our search for an experienced Director of Equine and Facility Operations to lead this facility on the day to day, handle any emergencies, manage and develop a team, and grow this facility into the future. The ideal candidate will process a wide range of skills from managing equines, equipment, staff, and vendors, to sourcing and managing contractors, to giving valuable insight into the plans for the future development. A keen eye for detail is essential, and a commitment to developing the facility at it's high standard of excellence are key points to be successful in this role. Currently the farm has 3 full-time staff members in addition to the ownership, the executive team, and the contractors. Ideally we would love to grow that team, so a candidate who has experience is staff additions and retention would be excellent.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, capable of handling both day-to-day operations and unforeseen emergencies with professionalism and efficiency, and possess the ability to learn quickly, listen well, and ensure the highest standards of excellence.

Required Attributes:
- MINIMUM 3 Years proven experience managing high-end properties and equestrian facility management
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to think critically and proactively address challenges.
- Strong project management skills, including vendor management and obtaining bids/estimates.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards and delivering quality work.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Exceptional listening skills and the ability to address feedback constructively.
