A piece of equestrian tranquility nestled amongst the hustle-bustle of the Los Angeles area, this 75 acre show venue is home to over 50 events and clinics each year! There is something for everyone here, whether they are an avid equestrian, a curious spectator, or someone looking for a casual afternoon trailride through the park. With permanent stabling for up to 500 long-term boarders, this facility is also home to several trainers from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Job Description
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in equestrian operations and show facility management to take over as this facilities Director of Equestrian Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep of the venue itself, managing the maintenance staff and independent contractors, ensuring equipment remains in good repair, managing events from start to finish, and providing support for the onsite boarding operation. This person should be meticulous, detail oriented, and possess exceptional customer service and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience running a facility of similar size and caliber. First-hand familiarity with other large equestrian venues in the nation will be looked on favorably, as it allow for unique insight into the success or possible short comings of the facility itself. Exemplary leadership skills and event planning experience will come in handy in this role, along with the ability to adapt to whatever life throws your way. Overall, we are looking for the individual capable of wearing many hats behind the scenes in order to keep the venue thriving to the best of its ability. 

Job Duties
- Assist with facilitation of events, clinics, shows, and equestrian activities from an operational standpoint
 - Lead the facility's maintenance and barn management teams to ensure a cohesive and efficient atmosphere
- Be able to effectively delegate daily tasks to appropriate team members
- Assess the strengths and weaknesses of each team member to ensure appropriate tasks are given for maximum efficiency.
- Conduct regular reviews with staff, support and correct as needed
- Field concerns and requests of resident boarders and event personnel as needed
- Maintain open and effective communication with superiors and staff
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks and set a lead-by-example standard for coworkers and staff
- Assist with and oversee Capital Improvement Projects and the contractors brought in to facilitate them
- Operate tractors, arena drags, and other heavy machinery as needed to assist with daily facility upkeep
- Maintain a standard of excellence that will carry over to staff and overall facility upkeep

Job Requirements

Job Requirements
- 3+ years large scale equestrian facility management
- 3+ years leadership experience 
- 2+ years large scale event operations management
- 10+ years equestrian background (high caliber show settings preferred) 
- Ability to self-govern in order to meet long-term and short-term deadlines
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, and communicate effectively in the same manner
- Exceptional rapport building skills for both long-term boarders and short-term visitors to the equestrian center
