Description of the Facility:

Are you passionate about horses, specifically the dressage discipline? We own a serene, beautiful, private, 15-stall equestrian facility situated on 80 acres and boasts exceptional indoor and outdoor arenas, spacious grass paddocks as well as several dry lots, all with shelters. The barn is heated with a fully enclosed center aisle barn. 

Job Description: 

We are located just west of Minneapolis and are looking for an experienced, responsible, and reliable full-time Groom who can multi-task and assist with the care of our horses, which include high-level dressage performance horses, as well as retired dressage and eventing horses, a mule, and 2 mini-donkeys. We are looking for someone who is skilled in all aspects of horsemanship and possesses a solid working knowledge of basic medical care, equine nutritional needs, and equine behavioral management techniques. We want an outgoing role model who can function independently, show initiative, motivate others, and be part of a team. We also need someone who is organized, has good time management skills, and a strong work ethic. We operate a non-smoking facility. 

Job Requirements

Job Duties


Groom indoor and outdoor arenas

Groom horses for upper-level dressage rider

Tack/untack horses for lessons

Assist with vet and farrier appointments

Clean tack

Prepare grain, supplements, feed, and water

Cleaning stalls

Turn horses in/out

Barn laundry

Perform basic first aid when necessary

Theraplate experience

Maintain a clean facility

Lunging

Blanketing


Experience Required


7+ years of practical experience with dressage horses

Ability to drive 2- and 4-horse gooseneck trailers

Knowledge of feeding/administering hay, grain, supplements, and medication

Knowledge of equine first aid, preventative healthcare, and stall behaviors, e.g., colic

Ability to groom and wrap


Hours


7:30-4:30 Tuesday-Saturday (we can be flexible on day off). Must be flexible and able to work additional hours for shows or clinics.
