About the Facility
This is a a small, tight-knit eventing barn located in Virginia with two international level riders. Horses range from young prospects to actively competing FEI Horses through the CCI4* level. With a small string of 8-9 competition horses, and a happy group of retirees and boarders, the workload stays consistent and manageable while being split across the Barn Manager and 2-3 additional grooms. This is a barn that regularly travels and competes at the top events in the country, but is based year-round in Virginia with perhaps only 2-3 week visits to their Ocala farm during the winter FEI season.
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced groom to join this fantastic UL Eventing program! The ideal individual will have experience through at least Training Level Eventing or 1st level dressage, as riding (hacking, trot sets) is a required portion of this job. This is a 6 day/week position, with consistent 8-9hour work days (excluding show prep/emergencies of course!) All horses primarily live outside here, so stall cleaning is an absolute minimum unless there are weather events or early mornings that require them to be stalled. On the weekends, boarders handle all basic chores, allowing for a lighter workload for the staff on non-showing weekends. For a candidate interested in advancing their own riding career, board is included on a personal horse!
