Job Description

About the Facility:

This is a premier equestrian facility located at the one of the most historic equine venues in Texas. A multidisciplinary facility, this program is home to a bustling H/J program, along with a growing Western and Polo presence! Their facility boasts 20 beloved lesson horses, and over 40 boarded horses, and a team of dedicated professionals, including 4 assistant instructors and a full time Office Manager who keeps the wheels turning. They pride themselves on providing exceptional instruction and fostering a positive, collaborative environment for riders and staff alike. With Great Southwest Equestrian Center in their backyard, there is no need to travel all over the country to reach the best of the best Hunter Jumper shows in the South-Central USA. Developing the sport's next equine generation should be the primary focus of our ideal candidate for the Lead Hunter/Jumper Trainer.

Job Description:

We are beginning a search for an experienced, motivated, and hardworking Hunter/Jumper Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about mentoring riders and associate trainers, takes initiative, and is eager to contribute to the growth and success of our program. This role offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant, team-oriented environment. While you will have clients that show at the top levels of Texas Hunter/Jumper events, your focus will be based on developing the next generation of true horsemen and women, fostering community, and living a more laid-back lifestyle while mostly home year-round. You will assist in the unification and team building of a wide variety of assistants, staff, and horse owners, while helping to ensure the highest quality of care and attention to the lesson and boarded horses on-site. The lesson horses never work more than 1x/day, and they have a waitlist of over 150 individuals looking to join their program! Riding will be a key piece of this role, and applicants can anticipate saddle time on a minimum of 4-5 horses per day. With an exceptional Office Manager on staff, you'll be free from having to worry about scheduling, bookkeeping, technology, logistics, record keeping and client troubles. Your main focus is to develop riders, teach lessons, be a great team player, and an even better leader and mentor to young equestrians and athletes. Leadership here believes strongly in a proper work/life balance, offering a 5-day work week with consideration for your time and effort towards other projects and events.
