About the Facility
Newly established Hunter/Jumper & Eventing training and sales program in Ocala FL. Situated less than 10min from the World Equestrian Center, this facility is home to a brand new 16 stall cement block show barn, oversize world-class show jumping arena, and roughly 15-25 horses on-site for training and sales. Owned by an FEI course designer, clinician, and trainer in all 3 H/J rings plus the UL of eventing, horses range from retirees to 1.60m competitors to young new imports and training projects. The team shares a 6 bedroom house on-site with ample room for privacy and a laid-back but high quality work environment.
Job Description
We are looking for an individual who loves to tinker around the farm and care for a delightful group of horses day-in and day-out! This person will be responsible for the basics of horsecare including stall/paddock cleaning, bringing horses to/from turnout, and maintaining basic facility upkeep. This will primarily be a stay-at-home position, working alongside the Barn Manager, Assistant Trainer, Working Student, and ownership team to provide top quality care for the horses on-site. This facility is based year-round in Ocala, FL and is looking for a positive, upbeat team member who can share the workload and ensure their horses are given appropriate numbers of cookies at all times (hint: they get a lot of cookies)
This role can be structured as either Full Time (salary) or Part Time (hourly) depending on the individual situation, with fair & competitive pay DOE once housing cost has been satisfied.
Job Duties
- Stall and paddock cleaning 1-2x daily
- Feeding 2-3x daily
- Bringing horses to/from turnout
- Blanketing as needed
- Cleaning tack and equipment
- Mowing, weed eating, etc during summer
- Ensuring cleanliness and organization of facility at all times
- Fixing fences as needed
- Night check responsibilities shared with other staff
- Occasional customer service as needed
- Occasional group facility improvement projects
- *Occasional assistance at WEC may be necessary from time to time
