This beautiful and well-equipped 70 stall training center in Southwest Kentucky is set up to support a thriving training and breeding program! With both indoor and outdoor arenas, ample turnout space, on-site breeding facilities and foaling stalls, and easy access to top quality vets and farriers this is the ideal setting for an established professional looking to grow a program - or a former assistant trainer who is ready to strike out on their own! The owners of this facility have a handful of their own horses to start in training with this individual, with capacity for as many as 20 horses in training. Job Description
We are seeking a competent and compassionate Trainer/Barn Manager to grow a horses-first reining program out of this fantastic facility in Kentucky! This person ideally will have a strong competitive record and background in the Reining industry, and should be comfortable promoting their own business within the local community. As the owners believe in providing a truly positive experience for horses and humans alike, the trainer in this program must be ethical and kind in their training and treatment of others. The owner's horses will ideally be in training with this individual, making for a starting clientele of 5-6 horses. There will be an additional 14-15 stalls available to this individual to bring over a current program or build a new one here. Management tasks will be required such as scheduling, ordering supplies, and staff management - and there is a quality group of workers currently in place.
Job Duties
- Provide training to the facility owners and their small string of competition horses
- Determine which shows/events to attend for best results and manage logistics for competitions as needed
- Advertise services within the local community and bring in additional training clients
- Manage inventory levels of stable supplies, and place orders as needed
- Consult with vets and farriers to ensure adequate care for horses at all times
- Hire, train, and manage support staff as needed
- Source, train, and sell horses for owners and clientele as needed
- Grow the presence within the local community - ensuring a positive and kind reputation
- Provide an exceptional experience for clients and visitors to the ranch
