About the Facility:
Imagine 300 acres of rolling northern Ocala, Florida landscape with top quality warmblood mares, foals, European imports, and elite H/J/Eq show horses... Are we excited yet? 
This facility, which also has home bases in Wellington, Florida and Connecticut, is expanding into the Ocala, Florida market to bring their breeding and young horse operation to one central location. Within a short drive to WEC and HITS this facility will serve as their foaling, retirement, and young horse development operation and additionally, layover for traveling top competition athletes. They own a combination of imports and stateside horses, many well known warmblood bloodlines at the top of the sport. A variety of ages from in-utero to actively competing in sport. This farm is in it's raw stages now, the ownership is working closely with world renowned architects, builders, and developers to take this formerly polo operation to the newest age of sporthorse breeding and young horse education. The facility is divided into two parts, one is geared towards broodmares, breeding, foaling, and weaning. While the other side is for young horse development. 

Job Description:

We are searching for the top Barn Manager to lead the Young Horse side of the operation. This individual should be incredibly organized, have advanced attention to detail, and have a deep understanding of the Sporthorse market, both in Europe and stateside in the USEF A Show Markets. This is a unique role, combining a bit of a road/show manger into the role as you would ideally travel with horses between the three farms and to shows. You would be the farm's lead point of contact for all things competition horses and facility development. Your main duties would be to see to absolutely the best equine care possible for the equine athletes, arranging their care, transport, and education. Additionally you would lead, hire, and manage a staff of experienced grooms. When needed, our ideal candidate will be happy to jump in and help with riding and grooming tasks as being a team player in this organization is imperative to being a strong leader. Your main location with be the Ocala location where you will manage the Young Horse side of the facility, and keep it in pristine condition. Key personality traits to be successful in this role would be: excellent communication, team oriented, self-starting, superior time-management skills, and extremely professional. You would be going an incredible team both based at the farm and internationally. Some of the biggest names in the sport participate in this facility's functions so you would be gaining meaningful connections and new knowledge at every turn. 

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities: 
- Maintain Budget, Records, and Billing
- Be the Main POC for Vendors, Clients, Guests, Owners, Trainers, Staff, and Practitioners
- Assist and Lead the Show Team and Young Horse Team with Equine Learning and Development
- Hire, Lead, and Manage Grooms and Auxiliary Staff
- Manage and Order Supplies, Medication, Hay, Feed, Shavings, Equipment, Sponsor Products
- Work with Contractors as Facility Improvements Continue
- Day to Day Horse Care, Hands-On Assistance with the Grooms and Riders
- Pro-Active Horse Management
- Organize Competition and Import Logistics: Equine Transport, Medical, Records, Show Entries, Staff Transport and Housing
- Travel to Show Venues and Other Farms as Necessary
- Schedule and Maintain Vet, Farrier, and Practitioners
- Keep the Facility in the Best Condition

Ideal but Not Required:
- Advanced Flat Riding Capabilities (H/J Focused)

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years leading a Barn Operation as the Lead POC
- Minimum 2 Years working in a road or show manager role
- Extensive Young Horse Experience (Hunter/Jumper/Equitation Preferred but Not Required)
- Extensive Importation Experience
- Strong Understanding of USEF and FEI Rules for A Rated Competition
- Advanced Equine Care Knowledge
- Extremely Organized, Detail Oriented, and a Team Player
